Well, bollocks. I just spent an hour or so auto-sampling a bass patch and tidying up the loops. It is possible to get very smooth loops in the Sample Editor, and I am happy with the results - no artifacts at all.

However, when I go to play the samples in the Program editor, every loop is clicky. Huh?

V 2.11.something. Standalone. Any ideas what causes this?

Ha! Fixed. For some reason the loop points had changed... slice was set to Pad. When I changed that to All, everything worked correctly.

In a sample edit, TRIM is only to trim the physical data, this is not global to a program.
CHOP is only for slicing/chopping, this is not global to a program.

PROGRAM is how the sample will be heard and played in a program, using ALL gives you an overview of all slices.

TRIM/ CHOP share the same start end points.
PROGRAM has its own start/end points.

I had to come to grips with for a few days myself.

You ain't the only one.
I really had to take the time to understand what the differences are between Trim & Chop as well as the track/program sample editor. It all makes perfect sense now, but at first I was like :WTF:
I love the all/slice/pad sample start/end point options for each pad.

I been having problems in Sample Edit on my X
When IN Sample edit on trim mode I sometimes need to hit the onscreen only Arrow(>)
and go to the 2nd trim page to detect BMP and Key

Id say 2 of every 5 times after I use key detect on the 2nd page
the (<) screen arrow wont let me return to the 1st page.
So I'm stuck and there is no button on the machine to do it only on touch screen.

The solution I discovered after much frustration is I have to slide the left side Quick Menu out and back in again and the (<) On Screen Button works again.
(Quick Menu lets you get back to main, Grid, Track, Sounds, XYFX)

I Don't know if its a me problem or what...… I did buy this X used.

Or possibly its a bug from when Akai Introduced the Quick slide out tab.

If this is wrong place or useless I grant Admins Right of attorney to do as they wish with this post. :|

I just tried it on MPC X, os2.12.1, same, delayed reaction (6secs maybe) then it went left as its supposed to. Reminds me of the same thing when in the 4 efx slots screen, sometimes there is a delay before going into efx edit pencil icon. Pencil icon will turn red, wait a few seconds then proceed.

I just tried it on MPC Key 61, os2.12.0, snappy left right arrows after detect key and detect tempo, reacts fast without a delay. Updating to os2.12.1, same after update, snappy left and right, no delay.

Seems to be a bug that affects X and not MPC Key 61.

I love the all/slice/pad sample start/end point options for each pad.

I have the same problem with the looppoints. Is there no possibility in program for crossfades, playhead tracking or changing looppoints in realtime during sampleplayback? :hmmm:
It is very tedious and useless to find the right looppoints for long instrument samples if you have to trigger the sample from the beginning every time you do change the looppoint.
