update firmware to adat (comes with toslink)

Plug it into my motu 828 thunderbolt (or any interface that has adat in) 8 channels all working

Saved me buying another mixer or expensive interface

Interesting.. do you have Motu 828es?

With that any ADAT device will work. It's not using the MOTU at all, the MOTU in this case is a dumb AD/DA converter. That little USB box is what's doing the job of the 'sound card' on the MPC. You can use any ADAT converter with it, you're only going to get 8 channels out an 828ES and you have to set the MOTU up on your computer to route signals properly before it will work.

Thank you for your reply but not true I bought the Motu lp32 and had nothing but crackle and hiss after about a minute at 44k and motu 828es will host 16 channels of adat.. you perk my ears up when you said you had it working how long did you work a session
.
Also 8 channels is not a benefit when you get 8 channels analog in standalone..

Thank you for test would love feedback

Someone on the sequencer.de forum pointed me to this thread.
As I was lazy today and had no other things to do, I created a spreadsheet with (most, maybe all) so far mentioned interfaces. Please find the CSV export of the file below.

The list is in chronological order.
Items on the bottom are more recent than those at the top.
Neither did I remove duplicates nor did I correct upper or lower case (in some cases I did where my inner Monk told me so)
As the list is short enough to browse through you may have to invest a little bit more time to find what you are looking for.
Remarks were edited (simplified) by me.

Feel free to use this as a start for a mantainted list.
If that list already exists, you might as well remove my post.

Have fun!

Thats not me that used it, but it certainly is true. Did you read what he wrote? He's not using the MOTU as the interface. The USB device he posted IS the audio interface. He's using his MOTU as a dumb AD converter in standalone mode over the ADAT ports. The LP32 doesn't claim to work with Linux at all.

Not sure why you keep trying MOTU devices that don't have any class compliance with Linux. MOTU hates Linux, and the handful of people that do have them working should consider themselves extremely lucky. If you write to MOTU for help, they're going to tell you to go away until you install Windows or MacOS, they dont support Linux and have no intention of their devices working on it.

And an 8 channel interface is certainly an improvement for an MPC One user, and an MPC Live gets two more outputs too.

Super Thank you for bring this up, I tried it but still the same, I have reached to RME to see if there is away to turn the TotalMix and CueMix off in the menu, I think you are right the CPU just can not handle it. I will update if I can get it to work.[/quote]

Do you still have the same issue with the RME UCX II and the MPC?
