FRom MPC to PC INDIVIDIUAL TRACKS HELP

I am forced with a problem, that I have cuased myself, out of curiosity.

How would I be able to record from the mpc to my pc. The multi tracking software that i use is cool edit. I can mute 1 track at a time and hit record, let it play for the 4 minutes then do the whole process again.. but that takes alot of time and everytime the record process doesnt start evenly meaning, I hit song mode and play on the mpc then hit record in cool edit... each track wont be in unisen human error i guess

I guess to better simplify my question it would be to ask is there anyway i can sync the 2 together?

I have a MAudio Firewire 410 for my soundcard/interface. It has only 2 inputs and it has 8 Outputs...

I believe there is a way u can program the mpc to send each track on a different output but since my maudio 410 doesnt support multiple inputs over 2 I cant utilize that feature..

youll need to sync your recorder to the mpc. so the mpc controlls the sequencers transport controlls.

Yea that would help with the out of timing issue but as far as split tracks your gonna need the 8 outs expander of the MPC and then get a soundcard with alot of inputs liek a delta 1010lt

BULLCRAP!!!! that M-Audio has 4 INPUTS not 2. you can use the ones on the front as well!!

Also you should have bought the EMU1820 instead its cheaper and you get the proteus 2000 in software version.
Bare inputs and outputs on that.!!

anyone can doa quick crash course on that i hooked midi up to my interface with the mpc.... I am going to have to explore with the audio prgram till i find it?

well i have figured out how to connect the hardware to the software.. my next question is :
For some reason When I have a pattern tracked at 90 bpm on the mpc and then I hit record in software to track it there, the bpm in software tends to slow down and fluctates ( all real time )thus causing it to be real choppy....

I am not sure why this is happening.. anyone who has had this experience or any ideas on how to clarify the situatiojn.. plz help...

try slaving ther mpc to software.

u forget to read about the 4 inputs? the m-audio has?

I posted up and some one else has posted up midi settings for 2kxl and cool edit pro/adobe audition recently, do a search and you will find the settings. I'm at work and don't have the info on my laptop here right now.

As far as the output thing, everyone else above has answered that question.

everything seems to work well with this setup but I can not hear any audio output when i trigger the mp cpads... if I hit midi thru on my interface then I can hear all thge sound i want.. I am almost sure there is a setting that I dont have setup properly

it says midi input sync but i wouldnt i need input output sync to hear what im playing?

Listen, i have an m-audio firewire 410, and that is fine for what your trying to do, your going about tracking out your beats all wrong.

Instread of recording 4 minutes of each sperate track into your multi track software, sync your MPC to your muti track software( i slave to cubase) and just record the 8 bar loop(or howeverlong your loop is) of each track.


Like i said i slave my MPC to cubase
I have the MIDI out of the firwire 410, to the MIDI in of the MPC

Since your MPC is synced using MIDI(i use Midi time clock), each loop should be perfectly lined up.

So for example I will have an
8bar loop of my kick,
8 bar loop of my snar,
8 bar loop of my piano etc.. all tracked out in cubase.

Once that is done all you do is cut and paste the loops to the length that you want your song.

I just highlihgt all the loops and copy for 50 bars, then i automate.
