I need everyones help....I'm looking at upgrading from an MPC2000(classic) to either an MPC1000 or MPC4000. What are the different added features not available on the MPC2000(classic) that can seal the deal for me? I need as much imput as possible cause the people who work in the music equipment stores, don't know it all. I want info from cats that actually use the MPC1000 and the MPC4000.

Help a brotha out.....

thanks.....

This WHOLE forum is all about what you've just asked. Your asking us to re-tell everything we've already covered. Please do a search homie. The truth is out there, no, really, it is. Just take time to find it that's all. That's prolly why you have NO replies yet.

I have a 2kxl and have been thinking about upgrading for a while now. Me, I have to loot so I'm going for the full 4k maxed out.
If I was strapped for cash I would go for the 1k but later on I would hate myself cause I wanted to the gigantic features of the 4k.

I have a 1000, which I bought because of portability. Are you going to still keep your 2000? I never played with the MPC 2000 classic so I don't know the difference between the classic and the MPC 2000xl. I 'm familiar with the MPC 2000 xl model. If your MPC 2000 classic has timestretchng, zoning, reverse or other advance features like the xl model, I would suggest you keep your 2000 if you go with the MPC 1000 because the MPC 1000 at present is missing a few features which the MPC 2000xl has such as timestretching, zoning, sample reverse, track velocity, MTC sync.

Dispite its disadvantages, the MPC 1000 also has it's advantages too with it's compact size, Compact Flash (CF) card drive capable of reading CF cards up to 2 Gigs, fast save and load times, USB, up to 128 MB of RAM, ability to resample, and the ability to load up to 24 programs at once. The MPC 1000 is a great machine for those who like to move around or travel alot. I often grab mines and take it to my friend's house. At home I often find my self sitting on the couch in the living room making a beat with my MPC 1000 in my lap while watching T.V. or browsing the web. Very quick, very easy!!!

I'm currently in the process of upgrading to an MPC 4000 (the ultimate beast), but I have no intensions of getting rid of my 1000. It's the most portable MPC ever made which makes it very convenient and unique.

If you do a lot of traveling and are not looking for extra features, I'd recommend you go with the MPC 1000, BUT KEEP YOUR MPC 2000!!! unless you decide you don't need it. Otherwise, if it's the features you are after, you don't care about portability of the 1000, and you have the cash, I'd strongly suggest you give the MPC 4000 a try. I would recommend you buy the MPC 4000 but since mine's haven't arrived yet and I no experience with one at present, I'll let you use your own judgement on that. Feature and spec wise, the MPC 4000 kills all of the previous models.

Hope this helps.
