Force - Tascam or Soundcraft hybrid mixer

Also apologies to the moderators, yesterday I mistakenly sent a post to the wrong subforum (MPC sub).

In short - I'm an amateur EDM music producer and this is the setup I want in the studio and would use for live gigs. So in the future I don't want to be a classic "CDJ+DJM" dj, but I would perform live music (techno/trance).

Also with Force, I will direct connect to mixer my drum machine (MIDI keyboard will be connected to Force).

An item currently unknown to me is an analog mixer with multi-track USB routing, and I found these three. I'm not sure about the Yamaha, but it's the cheapest, if it's not that bad - I'd take that too (to start with).

For Tascam models, I saw on youtube that people normally use the Force without any problems, but I want to hear your opinions and recommendations.
I don't want an audio interface+classic mixer because it's much more expensive for me - I would literally control the output channels from the Force via an analog mixer and a USB connection, add effects from the mixer, etc.

Had the Sound craft 12 MTK and now have a Model 12. sadly my Soundcraft MTK power died, which is why I replaced it with the Tascam. The analog EQs were nice, FX weren't too bad either, only complaint was the USB was pre eqs/fadar, which defeated the point for me.

The Model 12 is all digital, but can do post compressor/EQ via USB, allowing u to use the mixer. The Model series got an update recently that fixed one of its worse shortcomings that was having to allocate the PC output to a channel rather than the master my mixer output. This has been solved now, so you can choose, and honestly really makes the Model series a lot more usable with USB setups than before, as I know longer have to waste an analog input on my PC main mix. However only the Model 12 allows you to mix post compresspr/EQ, so the Model 16+ is quite comparable to the MTK as well. The Model 12 is also quite compact but the Model 16 is quite a bit bigger.

Overall I'd say the Tascams are better featured than the Soundcraft as they are still updating features, plus SD recording is obviously a big part of it. Although I have heard that they have their own power related failures. I'm hoping I can one day fix my Soundcraft MTK power, which is a brick atm.

While reading this, I did a little googling about MTK models and power supplies. Yes, I see that people massively have problems with the power supply that can stop working even after 1-2 years of use.
I just don't understand why many sites advertise MTK models as the top choice for multi-track recording.
My basic plan for live performances is for the mixer to go with me, as well as all the equipment packed in a music case.

So there's no way I'll be picking up SoundCraft.

I got excited on Tascam 16, when I read that the faders are post eq - I stop to read anymore.

That means Model 12 is good, which is missing at least 1 additional channel for my usage.
I had a plan that my Akai would be connected to exactly 8 channels, and additionally that I would have 1-2 channels free.

Is it possible to route Akai 2 or 3,4 rows (roughly speaking) go to the same usb routing?
So that I get 1 channel free for the rhythm machine?

I'll do some more searching around Mackie Onyx series and Presonus studiolive, I can't find anything smart anymore

Final decide goes for Tascam Model 12!

This Model 12 have most useful options for my live set and home studio.

It look like comp is recorder, only EQ and FX are not recorded.
But this is correct method in analog mixer. Lets say that you record 8 tracks for band, and you apply wrong EQ.
You cant fix that later.

So at the end - maybe I will choose Model 16. First - its analogue, and I want that "warm" sound.

Just need to see how stable is usb interface when is connected to akai or mac laptop.
