There’s something wrong with the ONE and connected drives and cards. I’ve documented my issues here before so won’t go into detail. Never had one burn like that but the one definitely doesn’t like to have storage connected to it.

Were you in controller mode?

Naw, i was working in stand alone. two synths into a analog rx1602 mixer, a ms70cdr on the master of the mixer into the mpc. maybe it created some weird ground fault of sorts. the sd card litetally smoked lol. i took the mpc apart inspected the little daughterboard. seems fine, i guess that sd card corroded and just shorted out and started to build up heat. Glad it didnt actually melt into the board.

Oof @ dusty. Yeah i think the terminals corrode and they heat up and go nuclear lol

I found this, not sure if its glue or cap schmutz.. its relatively hard and rubbery...

that's glue, nothing to worry about, it's to dampen the vibrations when you hit the pads. This cap have venting slots on the top of it, so when it fails it will spray everything that's above / below it.

Yeah the top of that cap has a little x in it and its not puffy at all. Everything seems to be ok with the multimeter too. No fault of the machine it seems.

Sd cards die on me all the time, replace it with a 4k video standard one. Sounds like the card couldn’t handle the recording.

Even better to get 3.5 ssd with an adapter to usb but the 4k video cards should be able to handle the mpc work load
