Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hello

I recently saw a guy using an mpc3000 on stage which was connected up to a couple of keyboards. He was able to record in some keyboard licks live over some beats WITHOUT needing to stop to record a new part. Is this possible with the 2k xl ?

well i havent had the mpc for long and am getting a midi keyboard on the weekend.....so I assume its the rec/dub option to record in new parts and loop em on the fly without needing to stop the beat loop ?

If your just tryn to sequence on the mpc, using a keyboards then u just run midi cable OUT of the mpc IN to the keyboard, then another midi cable OUT your keyboards IN to the mpc.

Now, if your just sequencing with one keyboard then, just put the MIDI CABLES (we just talked about), into

"IN 1 & OUT A", (marked in the midi part on the backside of the MPC).

If you had another keyboard then u would just put it in

"IN 2 & OUT B"

NOW, when u wanna sequence MIDI traX along with a loop,

go to the bottom left of the screen and highlight the word DRUM

move your lil data wheel (that gray circle thingy), till it says MIDI.

Next to that should be 1A-Device01, which means it's set to record track 1.

IN SEQUENCE MODE, on your keyboard

Now that track is set for midi recording.
