Just want to make sure I'm not missing a trick here.

When using the Drumsynth Multi, as far as I can see there is no way to route individual drums out to different fx. Just the inbuilt Sends and direct dynamic FX. For example I can't use a master reverb unless I send the whole Multi to it as one piece, just use the internal sends to the internal Multi Reverb. And Equally I couldn't send the hats to a flanger, unless the hats is loaded as DrumSynthHiHat. Is that right?

I'm guessing so. I kind of with there was just two options from the Drumsynth. The multi for a complete drum machine, and DrumSynthSolo, where any individual drumsynth could be any of the options. My reasoning for this is that it would be tidier to select the plugin and with a restriction of 8 plugins, you don't need to commit to one or another in a longer project.

Unless you specifically need to automate changes to the individual drum sounds parameters in real-time during your song Pattern you don’t need to be tied into the limitations of the Drum plug ins FX

Just Resample the individual drum sounds from the Drum multi program once you’ve created the ideal sound and build your own drum program from those samples, then you can add individual FX to each sound how you wish

Once I’ve decided how I want my drum sounds inside the drum multi I resample the hits and convert them to samples to make a new kit and that way it frees up a plug-in slot in the process

I have a few places I sample my drums from, but it's the automation of the drumsynth side that appeals to me, as well as the way you can dial things in.

So I'm guessing I'm not missing a hidden routing option here then. I looked at the VST manual and it looks like you can't select individual outs, so it looks like this is just a limitation of the synth overall.

Bounce the kit to a sample and the turn it into a drum kit. leave enough space between indivudual hits so there is no overlap of sounds so when you chop it up your kit is pure like the original. I do this to get around the lack of panning options... drum synth isnt very 3d sadly. great tool for generating hits but as drum machine type track it lacks.

lol I know. hear me out.. heh because drum synth has no fx routing and drum programs have way more capability that way why not migrate your kit over and apply your fx that way? then you can route stuff willy nilly. What you want to do isnt possible but it is under drum programs.

It’s designed as a rompler, since it’s inside a sampler, sample, and go further.
Understand that and get busy widdit.
Routing that you want is not there, move on.
Smartly, craftily move on.

Yeah I get it, I'm just checking that I understand the routing, not ask about the sampling it. So it seems I had understood the routing and not missed anything.

I didn't think it was a rompler though, but models based on synthesis not samples. Maybe some of the models, as the TR 909 hats a cymbals were sample based.

I like the automation and modulation options to create movement. I'm looking more to use the MPC as a live tool than a record producing tool. I have a few VST for drums to sample, Tremor, Sugarbytes DrumComputer, as well as samples form XO and Addictive drums, so having a built in drum synth appealed because it's a drum synth.

As a say in my first post, it's a shame the singular drum (not multi) is split by type and not every type was a available as a a solo voice to the multi voice. Then I could run 3-4 in a projects and change there modelling types as the project progresses through tunes.

I get what your saying. Your not missing anything, you understand it already.

It’s just not as robust as you want it to be,

Yeah, it's a shame, it's so close to working for me. I think I'm just going to use the Multi, but treat it like a single element in my mixes.

I dial in what I want in Multi.
Sample main out.
Continue to do whatever tf I want to it.
I recognize it’s limitations and am fine with that.
I also recognize the many other tools I have to get where
I wanna go.

DrumsynthMulti is the only (as far as I'm aware )softsynth you can only run 1 session of.

But you can run more the singles alongside the Multi which I wasn't aware I could do. This may be helpful, I assumed it was either a multi or a combination of singles, but not both.

Cheers
