Again - old dog learning new tricks.

So, I chopped a sample, converted, and saved slices to new program. I'm coming from older MPCs (2000/4000) where my goal was the k.i.s.s (keep it simple stupid) method - using as few tracks and programs per beat as possible.

Is it not possible to add new sounds to the newly created chop program? When I add and try to play, I get a jumbled mess. I'm assuming this is operator error. Someone help me out. What am I doing wrong?

Mpc X, I started a empty project.
Loaded an mp3, chopped by threshold, converted to new program slices (non-destructive),
In browser I was able to find other samples and drag and drop (use finger in browser, drag a sample to pad) them into the same sliced program I previously made. I had lots of empty pads in the same sliced program, so I added them there.

What do you mean jumbled? That’s not detailed enough.
I’m also an old head that came from 2000xl and 4000, even before that ASR-10 and Triton Extreme.

Yes please provide more details on what you mean by 'jumbled mess', because all you need to do is manually assign any additional samples to spare pads in the original chop program, either in 'program edit > samples' or via the browser, like you would assign samples to any other program.
