Choirs for standalone MPCs

Hi, does MPC Key 61 come stock with nice choir sounds? If not, which expansion has nice choirs? Is this one good choice:

Not really an answer to your question, as it's not stock for MPC, but I have thought about using some of the free choirs available. My approach wouldn't be to make a program for it, but use the VSTi to make a loop in a my daw and then play that in the MPC. But if I did want to make my own program I think they could be good sources to do so.

Fabric has some decent choirs, from Mellotron (there's also the Mellotron plugin fwiw) to Fairlight to more "acoustic" female/male/ensemble ooohs and aaahs

I have had good results by tracking down free SoundFont choirs, extracting the waves If necessary) using sfzed or similar, and then compiling the sounds into a .xpm file using Instrumap.

Yes, this would be incredible. Auto-sampling chior sounds can be quite challenging, especially setting the loop points right.

Hi jamos, thanks so much for the link to this nice choir soundfont library! Do you maybe know more about where to look for Soundfont and SFZ libraries (free or not)? Especially orchestral stuff and guitars. Thanks!

As far as where to look for these things, wow, just about anywhere. I simply Google Sound font and the type of sound I'm interested in and find a lot. I just downloaded something called the 15 best sound font choirs, maybe seven of them were usable, but there was real good stuff there.

I also stumbled across an excellent sound font editor called polyphone, and I use that in conjunction with Instrumap and another utility called Bulk Renamer (for making sensible file names), and between those three the process is pretty smooth.

I love Fabric's "full choir" ooohs and aaahs - absolutely unsubtle but perfect for big ambience, worthy of a cinema score !
