VIP software?

I'm curious about the Akai VIP software. Among other things, it promises strong VST compability.

But I can't find where to download it. Would like to download a trial of it.

What's the story? Is it still around and supported?

Good question. I‘m waiting for some improvements and Apple Silicon Compatibility for years… not really sure, but the last update might have been somewhere between 2017 and 2019 (Version 3.1)… since then, straight silence from Akai…

But the VIP compatibility is actually working well, especially if you’re a Logic user, you‘re able to host VSTs in the VIP AU Plugin and bring them into the AU game…

VIP was purposed to be Akai answer to NI's Komplete. It worked pretty well in my opinion. My Advance 61 still gets a lot of use with it, and I incorporate it into a lot of my older MPC projects.

Ever since the 3.1 update, VIP as a whole has been DOA. I don't know if the team was fired or just moved to other projects, but I seriously doubt that we will see it get updated anytime soon. Maybe some of its features get incorporated into this mythical MPC 3.0 Software, if it ever surfaces.

I think it's CRIMINAL how Akai did Advance series users. That hardware deserved better.
