Yes. I see them as utilitarian plugins, nothing special to be honest

Ok so I took the plunge and updated.

If you install 2.12.2 then the new plugins become available for download. I’m seeing 4 and there’s no payment involved, you just have to download them (as mentioned earlier in the thread).

Not sure about the mentioned ‘Spectral’ plug-in though, I’m not seeing that, maybe it’s going to be a paid one, or maybe it will be released later down the line.

This is a stealthy move by Akai, everyone assuming it’s a paid upgrade and then give it for free

they won't be available for some time yet

I did the same, no charge for these.
It did log me out of my In Music account though, then gave me a bloody QR to log back in &/or a code & told me to visit Akai's device website

Seem like "spectral" is desktop only - they've not even been bothered to port it to MPC lololol

Spectral is desktop mpc software only.

Make sure you update to 2.12.2 otherwise the plugins are only available as a trial. They are all free.

agree or at least give pople the option to uninstall the aspects of the Os that they dont want; cos sometimes the mpc does seem a bit bloaty, not so much from a performance, but as u said, that is a long list of fx to scroll through if most of them u dont use.

Yeah I just read about the spectral one being desktop only. Someone posted a page from 2.12.2 manual and it mentions the plugins being available for purchase at thempcstore , guess they changed their minds

good to see that preset expansion packs are coming that will make the in built synths alot more usable and accessible to those who are not sound designers
