Far too many workflow enhancement from 2.8 to 2.12, pretty hard to pass on.
You may think you don't need them but will more than likely appreciate the difference they make.

Agree. You can always go back if you have the older firmware anyway, why not try it?

Tried the above - still around 4.5 minutes!
My attached SSD does have a shitload of libraries on it (around 1.5tb), but the previous version - 2.12.1 booted in seconds, how come now it's taking as long as it is in the very next update?

Thanks for your help anyway, I'm hoping they fix this for the next round - but it is really disappointing that things get fixed in updates, but end up breaking significant other things in the process..

If you have a splice account, log out of it temporairly and try to boot without it, otherwise just create an empty "Splice" directory on your ssd - seen some random sh** happening even without active splice account.

MPC X updated, 12 seconds, no reset prefs.

I feels it’s your media that’s the problem. Disconnect all media, reboot with the latest update, what’s the result?

Yeah, I reckon it’s my media too, but I’m not gonna start taking out SSD drives, which, by the way, was a huge selling point made by Akai in the first place - I’m not gonna start doing that.. Especially, considering everything was absolutely fine until this most recent update.

I honestly am beginning to think they made a machine that’s incapable of running 100%, to match everybody’s needs - and it’s not like we’re requesting the thing to do backflips - just to work correctly within the scope of what Akai have stated the machine can do.
