Anyone using Key 61 to control Reaper? MMC?

I'm interested in using the MPC Key 61 to control Reaper, and maybe FL Studio. I'm running a Mac. At the least, I'd like the keyboard and the transport controls from the Key 61 working in Reaper.

Can I do it? I found the MPC MMC Setup doc. I opened the Audio MIDI on the Mac and followed directions. But didn't see direction for what to do in Reaper itself.

Has anyone gotten this to work with Reaper?

Also asked the Reaper forum. No response. Feels like it hasn't been done before.

IMO, the MPC Key 61 is a really nice controller keyboard. It'd be a shame if it can't work with other DAWS. MPC 2 is fine, but there are times we need to hope on other DAWs, especially because MPC2 isn't compatible with all VSTs.

Connect desktop and Akai MPC 61 via USB
- Start MPC 2 on desktop
- Start Akai MPC 61
- Go into controller mode on Akai MPC
- On Akai MPC, go to MIDI Control

At this point, the keyboard from the Akai MPC start working. If not, check desktop setting to point to the Akai MPC. ("public" IIRC)

Haven't got the Transport, pads, or other controls to work. But it's great to at least get that keyboard working. Oh, the pitch and modwheel also work.

With your key61 in controller mode it should act like any other midi controller, you can map reaper transports and all that jazz. just not when you are in the regular mpc mode using a midi program to control an external midi synth or computer. it has to be in controller mode to get all the knobs and buttons mapable.
