MPC LIVE 2 output crackling/popping almost sounds bitcrushed

u got that vinly fx turned up too loud; like madlib said: mad dirty pop and hiss

If only ... but I don't even use it
I have like 4 tracks, sometimes without any effect

So if you go back to 2.10.1, there is no crackling audio? Are you on a Live, Live 2, MPC-X, etc? What's hooked up to your MPC? More info would be helpful...

Try this.. press shift + menu, then head over to the left side and select audio. then go to your soundcard selection drop down. tap it. next give the encoder a turn. It will force the soundcard to re-initialize. It may correct it may not.

I got my Live 2 retro used 2 years ago and depending what I'm making the speakers always distort around 75% volume and above. (mainly bass and kicks)

It kinda sucks I will never know if the previous guy abused the speakers or that's just how they sound.

The previous guy abused the speakers, because that’s not how my Live 2 sounds at max volume.

Yes, v2.10.1 remains stable and crackling-free
As stated a few messages ago, crackling appears when I update the firmware on my MPC Live 1, even on very simple projects with a few samples and nothing wired to the unit. I don't even use an SD Card nor hard drive. Could this have an impact ?

The crackling happened with no interface wired to the MPC, but I just got one so I might try with it ...

Alright so, I am now running the project from an SD Card (in standalone or via MPC software or plugin) and I use a Zoom R16 as Audio Interface ...
I upgraded the Firmware to 2.12.1 again, and everything seems fine for now

So I'm not sure if it's thanks to the SD Card or the audio interface, I might test them separately later, but for now I'm glad to see it work properly

having same issue. just noticed it and it's not going away..

sounds like alsa is being overdriven. ssh into the box and type alsamixer and turn the levels back down into the green.

I too get this crackling sound. When it started happening I assumed it was bad electric supply then realised it is just the MPC output. I am on 2.14 - I presume 2.15 doesn't fix it? Tempted to roll back to .10 as previous poster did

Akai should really sort this before worrying about version 3 line

Its a mismatch in the audio rate. do you use an external card? switch from it back to internal and back your card, or vice versa. When you select a different device it automatically selects the rate. 44100 / 48000 etc etc
