MIDI between the Akai Force and the Conductive Labs NDLR

I just picked up a Conductive Labs NDLR and I can’t get sound from the Force with the NDLR running a sequence. I can with an Korg NTS-1. I must be doing something wrong.

How do setup midi between the Force and the NDLR? I want the Akai Force to send transport controls and midi clock to the NDLR. I want the NDLR to send midi notes to the Akai Force.

I’ve loaded 4 different hype, and baseline plug-ins with different presets on the Force.

I setup the plug in tracks to:
Monitor: IN
Midi in: NDLR Port 1 thru NDLR Port 4
Midi In Ch: 1-4
Send to: <none>

In the MIDI/Sync Menu in Preferences:
Input Ports: NDLR Port 1-4 = TRACK
Output ports: NDLR Port 1-4 = TRACK

Sync Receive: Off
Sync Send: MIDI clock

Akai Force: Send transport controls and midi clock to the NDLR
NDLR: Send notes to the Akai Force

Hello. Assuming the connection and midi channels are correct, make sure of the notes that the NDLR sends. Change octaves on the NDLR if necessary

As luck would have it, I have this exact setup running right now, and it works like a charm.

Here's what you need to do:

Go to your NDLR, hit the MENU button, get into the Settings 1 page (the second clickable encoder on the right, if you're not there), then set the outputs of the respective channels using the encoder on the left to use the appropriate MIDI output pathway and channel.

You also need to check that REC ARM is set on your Force for all the tracks that you want to have producing sound. If it doesn't like that, go to MENU, in there choose PREFERENCES, select SEQUENCER, and then check that REC ARM is set to Multi.

Here’s what I did to get it to going.

I had to set the parts on the NDLR to:
pad = usb 4
drone = usb 3
motif-1 = usb 1
motif-2 = usb 2

I had to set the midi sync out on the Force to:
Midi clock

I also changed the following based on details give elsewhere.
