Problems with outputting sound from mains, and headphones

So my mpc one first gen is fair new, bought it pre used. Haven’t had a problem with it up to this point. However, now I can’t output any audio out of the headphone jack or the main outs, with the only noise being a subtle humming sound. Don’t know if it’s an easy fix, or if it’s a mechanical issue that’s needs to be taken apart and fixed. If anyone has any advice on how to solve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Did you see if the audio interface is set to Internal & all that jazz?

What os are you on when you this started to happen & what was the last os you had it on before the problem?

Try installing the last working OS & see if that solves it & if so try installing the latest os that fresh but not the same file that you used before - it might just had been a bad download.


a sticky thread for common trouble shooting procedures like this would be helpful... but than that would mean less people making less new threads & wouldn't be good for the site...oh I see what going on

Absolutely. It’s currently has the latest os installed 2.12.2 I believe… before and currently so maybe that might be it.. regardless I appreciate your input. Just seem like a bummer if it’s an easy fix you know?

If you load one of the demo projects, does the sound work? It would be good to determine if this is an I/O setting on your current project or an issue that occurs across any project.

It unfortunately happens with demo projects, as well as when I load individually sounds on a new sequence. For clarification as well. When I use the cv outputs I don’t get anything either.

maybe it‘s just the internal board connection to the output drivers.
(cable slipped out, only partially inserted, broken, etc)
At least the hum suggests something like that. The output stage is working, but no signal is fed in and input not grounded, so there‘s hum.
