LIve 2 Discontinued?

Funny, I don't remember him mentioning that it was a keyboard. In fact he said it would have 'exactly the same form factor as the MPC Live' and would be 'this kind of size' where he makes a square shape with his fingers.

Will have a deeper look in a minute, but here's what I could gather from this morning:

* it will be approx 30cm / 12in wide
* at least two usb ports (1 x usb host ?)
* at least one pair of audio outputs (doesn't seem to have sampling capability)
* Wifi / BT 5.0
* SD card slot / no internal SSD bay
* Flash Drive (whatever it means) - most probably it was a pendrive that been used during testing
* Two additional unknown ports (midi jacks ?)

potentially it might be an extension to an iPad app but that is just a wild guess.

I see reference to the firmware version used during testing, 2.12.1, so maybe looking like it's running full version of the MPC firmware.

yup, page 11 of that report shows you rudimentary connection diagram with available ports and since they've used LPK25 for that test it means that indeed it has USB Host port.

Across the pond, it's in stock and available right now everywhere in the US at all the typical retailers (Guitar Center, Sweetwater, BH Photo, hell - even Amazon).

dimension are defo in alignment with the mpc live mini; more so then a mini keyboard, unless its 25 mini keys

u said it does not sample but we have seen the sp404 mk2 samples via usb c so that is most likely they have done with the live mini.

not sure why u would assume that its an extension to the ipad on; that seems a very illogical conclusion, cos why would they need a flash drive or sd card slot if this thing was linking with the ipad

the most logical conclusion based on the dimensions is that this is mpc live mini as per the tip off video

the video was very specific stating that 3 mpcs will come out in 2023 so if this product is anounced this year then the video is validated.

the dimensions and diagram look like a live mini format; so the video may yet be proven correct.

the mpc 37 keys is speculation as is the mpc live mini; but based on the diagram and the dimensions, the live mini speculation seems more plausible.

A few thoughts off the top of my head:

- FCC filing proves units have yet to be fully manufactured

therefore

- logistics
- marketing
- legal

have yet to follow. You now have what, 44 days (30 days not including weekends) to hash all of this out? Never mind the fact that supply chain issues are still very much a thing. Sure some of the departments overlap, and I'm certain wheels started turning a while ago, but again there's ZERO way this is announced, manufactured, and in stores available for purchase before Jan 1st 2024. I will give you the benefit of the doubt on QC/beta testing, though. Akai seems to skip that entire process.
