Controlling any plugin parameter with aftertouch

Some plugins support aftertouch natively, for instance the mini d. To control other plugins's parameters with aftertouch one idea would be to create a MiniD track, assign aftertouch to gain, and then create an envelope follower targeting another plugin.
This seems overly convoluted, is there a simpler way?

Do you mean aftertouch or channel pressure? Aftertouch is polyphonic, i.e. every note on a MIDI channel has its own aftertouch value. Which of the 128 separate aftertouches do you mean?

Channel pressure is the monophonic version of aftertouch, and in your case, I guess Mini D works as an aftertouch to channel pressure converter.

Are you using an external keyboard or controller to send the aftertouch or pressure, or the Force's pads? The Force's pads send polyphonic aftertouch, and almost all of the plugins first convert it to mono channel pressure on input. I've only managed to get the Odyssey plugin to handle actual polyphonic aftertouch properly. All others convert to mono channel pressure on input, which makes using the pads' aftertouch partly useless. I don't have Mini D, so no idea what it does.

Channel pressure doesn't seem to be on the list of things that MIDI Learn knows about. Use a MIDI processor device between your keyboard and the Force to convert channel pressure messages to Control Change messages which the Force's MIDI Learn handles.
