I am not aware of any updates to Mini D in this release, I do not know where he's getting that from. I've just checked the 'native' Mini D version (the one downloaded via 'Activate Plugins') and it's still running the same version 1.0.
To force an update of the native plugin, I deleted Mini-D from my disk, re-booted the MPC Software and then was given the option to re-download via 'Activate Plugins. It's still giving me v1.0.
The separate VST version of Mini D is currently 1.1.0, but that's not included as part of the MPC Software so is irrelevent to the latest 2.12.3 release. If you also have the VST/AU plugin on your system you'd have to update that manually by downloading it from the Air web site. But version 1.1.0 appears to be over a year old. To my knowledge there have been no recent changes to the Mini D plugin.
I'm also not sure why he's rescanning his VST/AU plugin folders when referencing the native Mini D plugin. This would have no bearing on the native plugins. Nor would it update any of your VST/AU plugins, all this does is register the existence of the plugin within the MPC environment (and subsequently whether or not the MPC will support using it). If you want to update a VST/AU plugin, you'll need to update through the plugin itself (or through the manufacturers management software, e.g. native access etc). Or manually from their web site etc.
Also, I'm not seeing that drop down bug he mentioned. He should report that direct to Akai along with his exact system specs.

Doc are you saying that my Mini D is REFRESHED and possibly has the same tech as this new MOOG Mariana?
