Either way, it's Juno-ish enough to provide that type of Roland sound on a Akai device which is nice to have.

100%. I also appreciate that they've extended its capabilities a bit, as well.

True. I hate when companies try to make an exact modern replica with the same old limited features. When most just want the same vintage sound but with modern features.

I wish they world redo the Odyssey layout. Jorbs video helped to make it more understandable but still. It is what it is, but it sucks when it doesn't have to be like that but it is to keep it authentic for a "virtual emulation" plugin...BYE!

Oh yeah! Weird that they've included the 106's factory patches and not the 60's then. :? Yet more evidence it's probably more of a Juno ballpark than simulation attempt.
It really does sound great either way. :)

I run into that all the time here too flipping between the Arturia Juno, the TAL Juno, and the Softube one. 'WHY DO THESE ALL SOUND DIFFERENT??' Oh yeah they're different Juno models.. The Softube is my favorite of the bunch, but I owned a 106, not the 6 or 60.

You can hear the Analog knob effect if you layer 2 Juras.

I sold mine around 2003 or so, so its been awhile, but the Juno sound is pretty unmistakable. They're all 'in the ballpark' honestly. I've never owned or played a 60 so I don't know how much different the 6 and 60 are from its MIDI enabled little brother, but the Softube gets me where I need to go so I'm good with it. Sometimes the TAL sounds a little 'sweeter' for the job so I'll use that (but its also a 60). The Arturia I hardly touch anymore, their synths are so bloated and slow to load thanks to the GUI, I can't remember the last time I used anything from them aside from the SQ-80.

I picked up their Model 82 SH-101 a couple weeks ago too, haven't used it in a track yet, but playing around with it for an hour or so, it was pretty damn close to my grey 101 right here. Gonna be great for old 101 sub basses until I get mine fixed and working again..

I just got a Live 2 and was looking at the new plugins for it. Horrified by the price. I never rated Air that much, so it's a bit wild to me that they want £150 for an MPC plugin.
I'll wait for a deep discount on sale at some point. I've got plenty to get on with learning the machine in the meantime. £150 tho smdh! Got to admire the sheer audacity of that pricing!

Jura is £150 most places, but I found it on Audio Plugin Deals this morning for $74.99! Worked out to £62 with PayPal:

They are stupidly overpriced, but there seems to be rotating sales around their various dealers.

Even Akai Pro has sales from time to time... it's not unheard of, and if you're in no rush you can from what we've seen so far, expect at some point there will be another 50% sale in the future.

Just be patient :D

Also... don't bother with the Jura Chorus... it nearly does nothing (very few options), and I have no idea why they didn't just bundle it in as part of the Jura price.
