MPC Stems - Coming Soon

Isn’t the stem separation code free and open source.?

I'm not really sure if the standalone cpu is good enough for doing the stems in a reasonable time...

Akai is going to charge you for including it in their software

I don't know the ins and outs of this as he hasn't elaborated. I guess it's still in beta, so perhaps they are wanting these pre-release reviews to take this into account.

I thought the results in the Andy Mac video were surprisingly good, especially considering there's no way to tweak the algorithm. My experience of stem separation software is generally underwhelming, often the results can sound like a bad mp3 encode, so I'm definitely going to reserve judgement until I can run the final release through various different source materials.

This is AWESOME. I just hope they can work some magic to get it sounding at least "good" in standalone.

Some keen-eyed dude has pointed out that the red MPC used to demo this feature is in fact a completely new model. At first glance it looks like a ONE+ but it has new buttons directly under the screen which the ONE+ doesn't have????

Tubedigga's video reveals the quality in true form. Doesn't sound that great

This Tubedigga demo was the deepest & funnest review I seen so far on MPC-STEMs.

I believe the 8gb of ram will play a roll when storing data ans how fast it allows thes cpu to process.. This like all legacy products might get phased out in time like my X

Could be an MPC TWO? Seems to early to get another ONE variation. Time will tell but I don't think we'll have to wait too long, I think they'll announce this when the stems goes live in Feb.

but an MPC Two will have the MPC one+ peeps pissed; but am def hoping that the red is not going to be their new default colour scheme

but I would of though this type feature would be saved for 3.0 so not shure what this implies, are we gonna see the arranger and mixer sold to us in this modular piece-meal fashion going forward? who knows

Big companies don't need & may not even want to use NAMM in this day & age. Keep us consumers on our toes.
