HELP : MIDI Keeps Listening to All Ports

I have an OG Live running 2.12.3
I have a track sequenced by a Launcpad Pro3 sequencer speaking on MIDI channel 1 via 5pin. The problem is this track apparently listens to all 4 Launchpad tracks, regardless of which channels I put them on. I've tried different channels on the MPC and different channels on the Launchpad, even different pieces of sequencing hardware, and the MPC listens to all channels even when I change them.
Can anyone help>

"Shouldn't" happen, but it does. Hence the request for help. Dunno if it's a firmware bug or something.

the first thing i usually check is that the MIDI channel for a given track/program is set to MERGE and not AUTO
