MPC Stems - Coming Soon

I wonder if this is the new mpc 3.0 software and it would have vst 3 support and other goodies and their talking only stem support for now.

i would thought that stems would of been saved for 3.0 so the fact they are announcing it sperately not sure if that means 3.0 is close or if it means that they have abandoned 3.0 and instead will just sell us modular features.

I'd prefer modular features instead of a monolithic upgrade that adds features I don't need and probably breaks the things I do use.

yeah i dont mind the modular approach; in fact i would like the ability to uninstall things that we dont need in the OS to have it be less bloaty

it will work on "enable/disable" rather than "install/uninstall" basis, all of the processes will still reside in memory but will be disabled with 0% cpu hit imho.
anyway I already can hear the folks crying, while they trying to explain their problem to AKAI customer support and get a coherent answer for a problem within a "feature mix and match" scenario

If so I really doubt the compression used on an mp3 or even YouTube is going to make much of a difference.

I've seen 2 dates for the Stems release , next month ..so in February .. and March.
Which one is correct ?
And why full blown present it , like its release ready , but let us wait for 2 more months.

It works for Behringer when they do that. But the difference is, Behringer drops some bomb shit like the OB-XA clone or the P800, or the new Jupiter 16 that's coming next..

when Teenage engineering launched ep-133 the product was avaialble the same day the marketing drive bagan; so there is no need to delay dropping a product, its actually better to make something immediately avaialbe when the hype is at peak

Better for the consumer not better for the company selling it. It’s marketing 101 which is based on human psychology. Humans want what they can’t have so you build up demand by leaking it or saying it’s coming but don’t actually let them buy it. one of the things Akai does really really well is with their neuromarketing. They actually convince people to buy the same product but in different packaging. Its kinda brilliant

Akai isn’t TE and TE isn’t Akai. The nominal cost and ease of manufacturing of the EP-133 makes for easier stock build up with less investment.

Comparisons are rather pointless.
