All the people who ever wanted a new smaller MPC Sampling Keyboard. I've heard some people wish for a 37key even when the 61 first came out. I believe a lot of people are gonna buy this, including me. I don't know why anyone would be so pessimistic on Akai's new MPC Keyboard as if they know exactly what every single human wants to buy next.
I personally think it's a brilliant idea to have a smaller sampling keyboard to fit in a smaller space just as much MPC Live or ONE buyers liked the smaller space and price the Live and ONE fits into.

I think Akai knows. That’s why they made it. I’ve heard people complain that the Key 61 is too big or too pricey. They wanted something like this. Now they have it. Not everything is for everybody. I think Akai is trying to grow sales by making a MPC for every occasion. It’s fine if it isn’t for you or me but it is for somebody.

I also think there’s some demand for a Key37. MPK mini has been quite populair for years, and if people find a Live MK2 portable enough to take it with them on the go, then a Key37 will also be marketed as the more portable entry level version.
4gigs if RAM is the new standard. Then the only MPC that doesn’t have the RAM upgrade is the Live. If we ever get to see a 3.0 on the MPC platform I think it won’t happen before the Live also gets an update.

Live 2 with a midi keyboard of choice and a midi mix still is the better option.

This is going to be much bigger than a MPK mini or live. This won’t be very portable. Nothing you could fit in a backpack. It doesn’t have the mini keybed
And I don’t think it’s a guarantee this has 4g. The one + didn’t. It doesn’t even look like it comes with all the sounds
Anyways, I personally don’t see a big market outside of the people who buy every new mpc regardless. But no sweat off my balls. As long as these “collectors” keep supporting the platform I’ll be good

I agree, 4GB is not necessarily the new standard, you'd have expected the One 'plus' to have 4GB, but the plus just meant wifi (and removal of ethernet). I guess it depends on whether the 37 is just effectively a 37 key MPC Key 61; if it is, I'd expect 4GB, otherwise if it's seen as a 'reduced spec' MPC Key then it's more likely to only have 2GB.
But ultimately, some of those Akai plugins are THIRSTY (each instance using up to 31% ram on a 2GB system), so if this is to be marketed as a 'workstation', it's probably going to need that 4GB.
I'm a fan of 37 keys in general (I currently use a launchkey 37), although I like my keys stored under my desk on a pull out drawer and that thing looks like the top half is angled, so not sure if it's going to fit under there.

Akai is taking a page from E-MU by making many different devices with the same OS. So if one isn't your thing cool, maybe the One is.... they got a MPC for any situation.
I don’t get the hate or the lack of business sense some have. If they made this new variation that must mean that they are confident that there's a market for it. This is like an ASR 10 with 2-4GB of RAM & whatever size SSD & a touch-screen with color, plus some decent synthplug-ins that can be resampled. I still don't want it, but I can see the type of user they made this for.
Now I'm wondering, why did they release this so early in the year & after the holidays?
They must have more cool stuff planned for 2024...

True, but this can easily be done without affecting the resolution at all. Just a peculiar choice to do it in such hilariously low res.

Wait, what??? The One+ didn’t came with 4gb? Thought that was the strongest selling point for it and also Akai preparing the platform for newer OS versions and more complex features.
