Help!

Hi, I would like to know something when I cut the sample and form a loop while in sample edit mode, how should I make it repeat without having to hold my finger down tightly?
every time I have to go into program edit and put "note on" on the pad where I inserted the sample.
I'm using an MPC Live 2 and I would like to know if there was a method to make it repeat in a loop by clicking only once on the pad

if you just mean while you're editing the sample, pad 14 is your friend

In MAIN, select a 'clip' type track and go to program edit to assign your sample - check out the manual for a breakdown of how to set up a clip program, come back if you need help with anything specific.

Clip programs are the only program type to support 'toggle' loops. Unfortunately clip programs are fairly basic in almost all other respects. Not sure why Akai never implemented this feature in drum programs.

oh I finally solved this problem, thank you so much for your help!
now I just need to figure out how time automation works.
for example I would like my sequence to start at around 80 bpm and slowly increase to the desired speed, how could I do this? if it can be done?

There’s no adjustable tempo map in the new MPCs sadly so the only way to do this I know of is either on the fly as the sequence is playing, or program a series of sequences with gradually increasing tempos and step between them. If I remember right song mode is no use as it ignores tempo changes and just uses the first sequence’s tempo as the master… is this still the case?

Yes tempo change automation is sadly lacking from the new MPCs (but was available in legacy models). Many have repeatedly requested this feature but it seems Akai or either uninterested or unable to work out how to implement it.

I Picked Up this tip from TubeDiGGA on Youtube For the new mpcs... ( Can't Find the Video )

1) Create a Clean Loop in sample edit
2) Turn on Loop in Sample Edit
3) Put the Sample into a Program and Assign to a pad
4) Move your cursor or touch to activate Transpose ( main screen> TRACK area) normally its off (leave it off for now)
4) Hold Down the pad to start the Loop Playing
5) While Still Holding Pad and Loop Still Playing.... Flip Transpose from off to 1 ( it should instantly cut the sound playing)
6) Take finger off pad and tap it again it should play forever...and I mean forever you have to double click stop button to kill it

I Remember TUBEDiGGA saying doing this makes so the pad never sends the midi off signal for some reason


It's a Goofy Roundabout way but it works for me on my X and Live 2 ( FEB 2024 )

Also forgot to add.. you need to set the pad play back mode to NOTE ON
