Hello at all,

what is the likely cause of an MPC One with defective interface?

Touchscreen is working, nothing else in terms of encoders, buttons, pads will do anything or light up. Just before, the MPC flashed all pads with about 20 secs time delay. Before that, it was live sequencing, but interface was not in use. Bought it around 3 years ago.

Can this be repaired?

Seems like no connection to main PCB from pads and qlink PCB. You could repair it or you couldn't. Repair services are hit and miss. So I'd say 50% chance on successful repair

If you are able to access the menu, check to see how full the Internal Drive is? I've seen Drives Completely Full, causing similar problems. Have you deleted any Pre-Loaded Files lately?

Internal Memory: 1.8G. I don't use Internal drive at all, though. Should I delete maybe something?

Looks like it yes, I hope this is under warranty and can find replacement.

No...Don't erase anything that was Factory Installed.

How far does it get, when you first turn it on? Does it get to the Main Sequencer Screen?

In fact it performs properly. I can access everything with the touchpad screen, that is settings, projects and any submenu of them, but the input buttons/pads/encoders don't do anything & no light will be flashing for the tap button etc.

During boot sequence, when mpc performs "self-test", it would usually flash the pads in all colors, but not so anymore. Despite obviously missing pads, the MpcOne boots without a hitch and works as interface, standalone and what not.

It quite "looks" like the power to the input controller or the input controller pcb itself is fried/interrupted.

Hmm...The only thing I can suggest is to Reset Your Preferences and see what happens

I had a similar issue with a Live 2 and was able to get it going again by powering on with [Bank C] + [Full Level] + [Erase) held and then reinstalling the firmware. Seems like something weird had happened with a previous firmware update where the screen would work but I'd get invalid serial number and unknown control surface in the info section. Hope this helps.
