I dunno... I was pretty choked when it didn't come with a Frappuccino machine.
They could of atleast added a shoehorn on the side of the machine.

So I go from an MPC Live to an Akai Force to a MPC X to a Push 3 standalone.........but I promise you the MPC Key 37 is the perfect groove box for me.

At this point, if you buy all the plugs, you spent about as much as a 61 but with less ram. Feels like a rip off to me. I like the form factor of the 37 but come on man, it’s 2024. Give me ram for all the plugs you want me to buy so I can actually use them.

Bingo

The logical next Frankenstein step in R&D for a long time - with what they have on the operating table already - has been a Force/MPC merger; instead they give us this, when all anyone needs to do is plug a midi keyboard into their existing MPC to achieve more or less the same effect. So depressing. This is mere set dressing, on a mass-marketing scale. They must have bought the rights to that colour and now they have to get their moneys’ worth for it

See Most of us are lookin at this from a Consumer point of view. Akai is lookin at it from Manufacturer, Low Cost, High Profit point of view. True...Having all the Bells n Whistles at a Bargain Price, is what WE want. An MPC with High Sales is what THEY want. They Put all the Bells n Whistles(at that time) in the MPC X. And a Few Whistles in the MPC ONE. Which MPC generated the Most Sales?

Akai Theory is....If you Need that Extra Bell n Whistle, go buy the Next Level up MPC. Giving Us EVERYTHING we want in the MPC Would be a Luxury on their end. The Whole MPC line is a Beast! No Complaints over here.
Welp...I did have one request since the 1st LIVE....(Ability to move tracks/fx slots around) But Hey...I just have to work around that.

why do force and mpc need to merge tho? I know thats what Dan Gill said but they may have abandoned that idea, all weed need is a mixer and arranger view in mpc and its a done deal

Still waiting for the model with the "no bugs" feature. I wonder if they'll ever implement _that_ feature.

They Already Make Bug Free Instruments.... Pianos, Drums, Horns, Shakers, etc.

ALL Electronic Devices Have Bugs. That's why there's Revisions, Recalls, Upgrades, etc

Just like OS 3.0
& I normally use a grinder for my weed, but a mixer is cool idea if you got pounds of it.

Hi jpeg, I didn’t say anyone ‘needed’ an MPC-Force merger - only that it was the logical next step. That said, in addition to the mixer and arranger you mention, I could use the crossfader and the macros for q-links in the Force quite happily. What I don’t think anyone needs, however, is the thing they’ve just brought out. It seems really superfluous and designed more for live performance accessorising.

I agree, it's what would close out the missing features solved between these products. Disk streaming should always have been an MPC feature too, so weird it's only available on the Force. I personally think have options to do clips Ableton/Force style in MPC would be great but understand it changes the design philosophy quite a bit. However I still think it would really nail the shortfalls. I guess you can look at Logic Pro which is linear and track based by nature, and eventually they added a clip launching capability and it works pretty well. Less sure how they bring that together in the MPC OS, but we know the OS itself can handle this capability in the Force .

It just seems weird to have two diverging OS for products that really are the same apart from the hardware.

My dream monster machine would a Force X as I prefer 64 pad grid, but love everything else about the MPC X layout. But understand it's fully preference and that's where Akai have done a good job in offering various offerings centred it's OS.

The Force 999 Scenes are like MPC 128 Sequences & can be used like that if you like, so the clip-matrix wouldn't be that much of a change to MPC users. The power of the Force is that unlike an MPC Seq, the Force Scenes can play any 1 clip or (track on the MPC) on any of its 999 Scenes at a time & clips can be switched to in mid sequence if you have Legatomodeonfor the clips - dope AF!
That's the part that a lot of MPC users will need some time to adjust to. It's like the MPCs dual sequence play feature on crack & steroids or like a woman because it way better at multi-tasking. The screen, pads, knobs, call be in different menus at the same time & that can be confusing as hell at first & even latter on after you "think" you know the device.

I actually think a Force Key 37 would be more up my alley with a MPC next to it.
