Moving Program Positions

Hey Guys,
Is there a way of moving the location of a program on the Track Mix View?



In the above image i have various drum tracks spread all over the place, but ideally I would like for example Trance Kick on 1, Trance Percs on 2, Loops on 3 and FX on 4.

They are a mix of various types of tracks (plugins and samples) Is this possible?

If your question is can you re-order tracks on the MPC? The answer is you have to do this manually, and just like with programming when you are swapping 2 variables, you need an intermediate one.

It's not possible to automatically swap 2 tracks on the MPC. The Force can do it, as always ...

I wish the Force could swap tracks like the RS7000...it can swap trk1 to trk 13 in one single operation. The Force has track reordering that works by moving trk1 to 13 & that moves 13 to 14, so you than have to move 14 to trk1 to complete swap.

Clunky method, but it works & is better than nothing. One of the best features upgrades for the Force & hopefully the MPC will get it soon. Not having it made setting up Project templates a pain.

Yes, if you are comfortable using a text editor on your project files.

To do so, connect your computer to the MPC in controller mode, then locate the .XPJ file for the project. Open it in the text editor and you'll see something like this near the top of the file:



The .XPM files are your programs. Whatever order you place them in here, is the order they will show in the channel mixer. The MIDI programs will create empty entries in the track mixer, which stinks; so at the very least you want to reorder them like this:




... with the drum and keygroup programs ahead of the MIDI programs.
