Hello MPC users, I got the new Key 37 and have a problem now. When I load a sample on any Pad it doesn't play. It only plays when I hold another Pad. Also the keys are not mapped right to the pads.

Can anyone help me out?
Thanks John

Sounds like your Program isn't programmed to your preferences. You could be using a generic Program with random Pad assignments or not pre-selecting the pad you want the sample to load into, or possibly a pre-programmed program with your sounds from another machine. I suggest you start over and assign all your loaded sounds to the play pad you want, and then save that program to load up the way you saved it. But first read the instructions on how to do this, so you how the Key 37 assigns it sounds in it's program.

Sometimes personal programs and sounds don't load the way they were created on another machine especially is it happened to be a Keys 61 program loading into a MPC, or an MPC loading into Keys 37/61. Anything is fixable by reading the instructions, and I would say the easiest way to fix that problem would be to just read the instruction manual for the Key 37, something could be different that could be causing that problem. But a step by step instruction should fix the problem of making samples play and load the way you want them to load.

The keys are gonna be mapped randomly to the pads, so often there's not always a predictable chromatic scale to keys and pads they could triggered all over the place.

Yes it happens all the time.
In standalone everything is working fine, no problems at all

Do you have an SD card inserted into the mpc?

If it’s like the one + you can’t have a card inserted while in controller mode without crazy issues like this happening

No SD Card, just my USB Stick, but the MPC can’t connect to my usb stick in controller mode, only in standalone. Tried it without usb stick, it’s the same problem.

My MPC One mostly doesn't recognise cards or USB disks in controller mode, really flakey for that (removing it and re-inserting normally does the trick).

If it's working in standalone then it's not the pads themselves, but no idea what it could be - could be the driver (uninstall and reinstall), USB cable or port (try different cable), software (which version MPC Software?), or computer OS bug (what are you running?).

I got a MacBook Pro M2 Max with an usb3 to usbc adapter. The cable is the one from the MPC itself. On my old X and One I’ve never had problems like this. I deleted the drivers and setting file, I reinstall the drivers and firmware. Nothing seems to work :/

Have you tried another USB cable?

You haven't said which specific macos you are running or which MPC Software version (should be 2.13). I suspect it's related to macos and sonoma, just seems like the driver is not working as intended on your system, but it's possible that it's USB related. At this point I would say open a support ticket with Akai and let them troubleshoot it further.

Firmware and Software both 2.13.
Yeah I also think it’s a driver problem. I contacted Akai Support on Friday, they said they need some time because they don’t really know what’s up lol. So maybe on Monday I will know more.
Anyways, thank you very much.
