Hi All
I have found a possible bug in the MPCX running on the very latest firmware.
Let me expalin.
I have a roland Gp607 digital piano which can be run in dual voice mode where by it sets voice 1 to midi channel 1 and voice 2 to midi channel 6.
I use this instrument as my primary midi input controller to the MPCX...which has a Yamaha Modx and Roland FA06 slaved up to it.
So i configure a midi part on my mpcx to go out to the 2 synths on their respective midi channels 1 and 2.
so in theory I play keys on my roland piano in dual mode and each note i play sends midi note on data on channels 1 and 6 and the corresponding midi note offs ..simple.
I then configure the input settings on the MPCX to recieve the roland piano has the controller and send it to either SYNTH on its respective midi channel IE. 1 and 2. This way i can play all the 3 instruments together.
Sounds simple and it is BUT THE PROBLEM IS THE MPCX SENDS THE NOTE ON MESSAGES TO THE SYNTHS EACH NOTE GETS 2 NOTE ON MESSAGES FROM THE PIANO AND2 NOTE OFFS, BUT THE MPCX SENDS 2 NOTE ON MESSAGES AND ONLY 1 NOTE OFF!!!!! wtf!!! SO I GET HANGING NOTES AND NOT PLAYABLE...I have tried different channels on the piano and the synths and nothing changes...IF THE MPCX GETS 2 NOTE ON MESSAGES FOR THE SAME NOTE AT THE SAME TIME (1 AND 6 ) IT ONLY SENDS 1 NOTE OFF AND LEAVES THE OTHER HANGING...RUBBISH.

SO IF YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO SET 2 SYNTHS UP IN DUAL MODE ON DIFF CHANNELS AND SENDING 2 NOTE ONS TOGETHER ONE OF THE NOTE OFFS WILL DISSAPEAR!!!

The onboard midi monitor on the mpcx shows this in action...2 note ons and 1 note off....not good and unplayable in dual mode from my piano.

I have contacted AKAI about this and they are useless all they say is they will pass it on to the development team to solve and tried to sweeten me with a 10 per cent money off voucher for any purchase lol.

Its no use bringing out new products when the old ones do not work propperly...Rubbish.

If you get chance anyone try this setup and see what you get

Cheers Terry :x :x :x :x

terry, known bug for at least 10 iterations
(so those promises of akai are rubbish really, like you said)

That same bug has been on the Force for awhile now as well. It made moving about 60 beats from the MPC2500 to Force tedious af!
This needs to be fixed ASAP. :x
