I load the sample from zip,
Go to SAMPLE list,
as soon as i press TRIM/LP, i get the Fatal error.

Heres what i get:
Fatal Error! "Instruction Alert"
[ID: 00000016, I: 20303034]
[FSR: C00050C7, FAR: FFD058E3]

^^^^^
Wat the hell does that mean??

Heres the sample (only 1KB):

Can somone do the above and see if they get the same error please?

Why is it that i get this error with this sample?

This sample is just a VERY small clicking sound. Maybe it's TOO SMALL to load. That CAN happen ya know.

I downloaded it and opened it in sound forge and it was exactly 4 samples long if I'm not mistaken. WTF, if that's correct then this sample falls extremely short and WILL NOT load.

Did you even open and analyze this sample in a wave editor? Do that and post up your findings in that wave editor.

samples have to be a certain length in order for the mpc's to load them. It's too short, I can't remember exactly (it was stated in a way earlier post in these forums somewhere) but it has to be at least like 3000 something sample long or something. What you have is WAY too short. I'll find it and let you know. In the mean while, make it bigger/longer and load again homie.

Doesn't matter that it says 2000xl, just apply the knowledge anyway.

the click is the sample.
when u repeat those kinda SHORT sounds, u get an entire diferent sample. Ive dunit with other "clicks" but i guess that 1 is just too short.

Does your mpc crash wehn u try to TRIM/LP it??

ahh man

how can i stop my mpc4k from doing all that sh!t?
That needs to be a option in the next OS man. Coz what if my samples r made in cool edit? with no clicks? and i want it exactly as it is?

thanx for the info by the way.

It's a bug. The MPC shouldn't be doing this no matter what the length of the sample.
Machines' shouldn't crash. Machine's with improper code crash'.

Be glad that the MPC crashes wtih the above error message, so that Akai can track it down.

Yes, I wouldn't say that you'd get a reply unless they have a question about it.

Considering that BlipFreak just repeated the issue with your steps, they should
easily be able to reproduce and see what's going wrong.

If you look at the bottom of the OS 1.70 Addendum, you will see a lot of bug fixes.
Many of those bug fixes come from end users reporting to the [email protected]
email address.

I've come across a couple of other fatal errors that I'll be sending in myself.

Cheers...
