Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

HI,

Can somebody please confirm if they have shared this experience and offer any advice..... i have searched the forum but cant see any other posts on the subject, and it has driven me near bonkers....

With OS 1.53 which was installed when i purchased my 4000, the slice function seemed to worked fine.... ie u set regions, and the sample was correctly sliced and a sequence created correctly according to the bpm.....

However, releases notes for os 1.60 claimed that the function had been improved.....when in fact it had actually been ruined...ie...the sequence created is now always at 120 bpm, regardless of the bpm of the sample rendering the "create sequence" function useless.

the strange thing is...the release notes stated something along the lines off "sequence now created in line with bpm setting"......when in fact it had done this previously, and no longer did...meaning that they had claimed to have added afunction which was previously missing, when in fact it had previosly been there, and thay had taken it away. how the hell can this happen...do they not test?

i ended up having to reload 1.53 when i wanted to slice any loops in order to get it right.....

i cant use recycle for this as my pc has died....also, i have yet to install 1.70 as i want to finish the tracks that are in progress b4 i bump into anymore new bugs etc, and anyhow, the release notes for 1.70 make no mention of this so i assume it has not being addressed.

Please help / advise, if you can........

Before you slice the regions go back to trim page set the trim end parameter to bpms of the sample and then slice it should work now.
