Importing AUDIO tracks in MPC ONE

Hi!

I'm a new MPC ONE user and I've been using it to play live with a midi controller plugged in. So far I've been able to download plugins and use the freely without any problem, but I've been wanting to import audio clips that I've already recorded to use as instrument bases and play over them. . I've downloaded them into a pendrive and plugged it in my MPC ONE, and was able to load and "audition" them, but when I enter the "Audio" part in the main mode, I can't hear the whole thing, only a clip (I tried changing the bar number but it messed up the track).

Basically, I just want to use my MPC as a DAW, to assign plugins t my MIDI keyboard and play some tracks to play over them, but I can't find a video online that explains how this is done, maybe because this is not how this product is intended to use, but as far as I know, it is possible to import tracks and play over them.

If you've got stems, you probably want audio tracks... though this has limitations as well.

Long story short though, the MPC is not really a DAW, and it's not going to operate like one.

This is simple. Load the audio file through the browser, then insert it in an audio track. To insert the sample, open the audio track, select the pencil tool, then use the Browse Sample dropdown to insert the sample.

You also need to make sure your sequence length is longer than the audio track.

The MPCs are great little DAWs.

You also use the select tool & you don't need know the bar length before hand since you can change it afterwards. I point this because the way you wrote it makes it seem like you would need to know the length first, which would be a pain in ass.

You've already been shown how to insert an audio track into your MPC above, so I won't parrot that - but keep in mind that the MPC currently does not support disk streaming, so your audio tracks will be truncated to 4 minutes and 59 seconds in length. If they are longer than that, you will have issues.

Side note: for the record, what you are really trying to do - Akai Force is perfect for this. It supports disk streaming and the "DAW" like experience is much more tailored to long audio stems/tracks.

Not quite true. Tracks can be longer than that, but recording is limited to 5 minutes. If multiple takes are combined then longer tracks are possible; I think longer tracks can be imported as well.

The 5 minute limit is a royal PITA.

But the lack of disk streaming will make it problematic if pushed too far. At this point I think it's a coding issue that prevents streaming or Akai is sadistic & wants you mpc users to suffer for their enjoyment.

I have been trying to load a wav-sample into an audio track, but failed. What worked about a year ago does not work any more. I can load the wav-sample within the browser and then load it within sample edit. Within the midi settings I can assign the sample to a pad, but it is not possible to load and save the sample into an audio track.

When I follow the above description and open an audio track, the select the pencil tool, then there is no option to move to the browser to choose a sample. Has anything changed within firmware 2.14 which disables the option to load samples to audio tracks.

I got help from a guy in another forum.

As a matter of fact, I was looking for the pencel tool, which I would interpret as an arrow. The "problem" was a missunderstanding.

Not related to the MPC issue but in case someone finds this thread looking for the missing BROWSE SAMPLES button in the Force's arranger, you need to drag the lower/middle toolbar up to make the bottom panel thing appear. Which may not be completely obvious. Additionally, you may have to tap the ^ EDIT button on the lower left corner.
