Nothing looks fishy, I wrote to the seller and they assured me that it was ok, sent pictures of it working inside their 4K. There 2 x additional jumper molex type leads that I couldn't see where they went so removed them. - The instructions only showed the IDE type ribbon cable
Good Idea, I switched out the battery recently, should I turn on with a battery in or replace with a new one?
If boot still fails, remove battery and try again (with the power disconnected sequence)
If still no success leave the MPC disconnected from power at least over night.

But my PowerMac G4 (Quicksilver) even needs an additional stage if it doesn‘t react to Apple‘s very special front panel switch: I unplug from main and then shorten the plug by a screw driver.
ps: when I got my 4K, none of the digital in/outs worked. no CD, no s/pdif, no adat.
Disassembled completely, found nothing, put it back together.
Only after connecting to mksys suddenly all digital in/outs were back.
May have been plain chance, but anyway...
