Hi everyone!
I have a question and truthfully I've been losing sleep over how the heck I will get my MPC2000XL as a MIDI controller in my DAW. It's somewhat of an immediate need. I don't have access to the 8outs nor the digital outs, nor the FX card. I'm REALLY just looking to use the MPC2000XL as a controller at this moment. I plan to use my own drum kits that I preset in Logic. I found something online from iConnectivity that would allow me to connect the MIDI I/O of my MPC2000XL directly into my computer using USB-A or USB-C. I want to know if anybody has had good or bad luck with using something like this. Almost sounds too good to be true. I have a newer MacBook with only USB-C ports. Some other options I had in mind was to get a new audio interface, something like the UAD Volt that has MIDI I/O ports, or something from the Focusrite line, that has MIDI I/O along with S/PDIF outs that I could potentially route the audio from that interface into the digital in of my Apollo Twin X.
I'm at one of those stages with my MPC where I need to be using it. I never find time to work with it by itself because I'm doing other things in my DAW and production sessions. But, if I start off by using it to some degree, like as a MIDI controller, I will be more motivated to dive deeper into the drum machine. I do plan on installing the 8outs & digital outs at some point down the road. But for now, I need to find an easy, efficient way to use it through MIDI in my current set up!
Please help me with any advice and/or suggestions! Thanks in advance!
