MPC X Mutes External Midi Device On Play

Hi friends.

I'm sending MIDI to Kontakt Standalone via an AMT8 Midi Interface.

On one sequence, as soon as I hit play on the MPC, it changes the Kontakt volume to zero.

I tried opening up a blank project and it works fine, and I tried some different sequences in the old project and it works fine, so my thought was it must be some automation event somewhere on one of the channels in this particular sequence. I muted all the channels but that didn't help. Even with all the channels muted, it still sends the volume message to Kontakt.

If I manually reset the volume in Kontakt while the sequence is playing, it stays in place when the sequence loops again, so it makes me think it's not an event somewhere in the automation of one of the tracks. For some reason, when I hit play, somewhere it's sending a volume message to Kontakt and the Kontakt output goes to zero.

Any idea why it's doing this or how to fix it?

Thanks, I tried it but I don't see anything other than note on, sustain pedal on etc on list editor for any of the tracks. No mutes or volume decreases

Everything seems normal. What's weird is, if it was some type of event message, it seems like it should send every time the sequence loops back to the beginning, but it doesn't, it only doesn't immediately when I push play.

Make sure each MIDI channel you are usiing has a unique MIDI program. Track volume will then control the external instrument consistently; make sure it is not set to zero.

You could also connect your mpc to a MIDI monitor and have a look there.

Thanks for the help, I copied everything to a new sequence and then started deleting the tracks one by one. I found an unused MIDI track that somehow had the volume set to zero and that's what was causing it to go to zero. That explains why it didn't show up in the event menu.
