well, maybe i expressed myself unprecisely: i'm not saying i'm sure that granulator is a direct copy of clouds, but sure enough it's very similar to how clouds operate. keep in mind clouds has 4 modes, here im talking about the granular mode only, keep also in mind that a lot of the clouds feeling is given by its end of chain reverb (oliverb). i had 2 factory clouds, i sold them only when i made my clouds "clone" inside the er-301 sound computer, the concept of granulator is VERY similar to that of clouds. you have position on clouds = window on granulator, you have density on clouds= density on granulator, you have size on clouds = length on granulator, texture on clouds = different envelopes on granulator, pitch = pitch , freeze = freeze, reverse was only possible with parasite alternative firmware on clouds. the real difference is that clouds doesn't have a randomizer embedded, except for the density thing (in granulator is random triggering). in granulator we can randomize the pitch too, it will be great if we could randomize length and window too, especially window. anyway, not saying its surely a clouds clone, but its very very inspired by it, fo sure.
