HELP - File not readable anymore

Hi guys,

So I have my compact flash split in 26 partitions. Yesterday I was working on partition K: and S: recently

I've decided to take out the USB and put some files via my computer to an other partition.

When I put back the compact flash in the mpc all the sequence I had in the two partitions I change names from :

ALL_SEQ1.ALL to ALL_SEQ **.ALL

And all the sequences I had in those folder, including some PGM file in other folder has now "space **" and the MPC told me that those file are not there, error F00 or something like this -

Please tell me if there is a way of coming back from this...

can you try to either copy a file to the proper name or rename a file to the proper name?

I tried to rename the program in the MPC directly but it still says "The request file was not found"
and how do you copy a SEQ or PGM file inside the MPC ?

Your computer will rename mpc’s filenames longer than 8 characters (this has been said MILLIONS of times here in the forums). Your files are safe, mpc is now looking for filenames from the last mpc save and now mpc doesn’t know what to do with the renames. You’ll have to remember the names then rename each INSIDE of the mpc.

DON’T let computer touch your mpc media again.

Make sure to ONLY use mpc filenames with 8 characters or less, no special characters and you’ll have no problem going to computer with that mpc media.

My multi sequences file is called ALL_GEALST
Does the ALL_ are include as part of the name of the sequence?

hi there, any updates?

I don't have an MPC60/MPC3000, so cannot answer.

My only thinking was that the filename kind of looked like something that a windows machine might do to truncate a filename that didn't meet the 8.3 filename specifications or, <name>.<type>... probably not what happened... and unfortunately I don't know much about these boxes so was just trying to take a shot in the dark.

Anyone who can help here?
