Noob question: MPC Key 37 - Touching keyboard clears pads

Sorry for a stupid noob question, but...

On a MPC Key 37, latest firmware I load a drum kit into my pads. All good, the pads are colour coded and hitting the pads makes drum noises. Excellent! Then I touch a key, any key, the keyboard and, boom, all lights off from the pads and the pads are de-programmed. What gives?

Aha! That's what's happened, the drums are loaded on pad bank A and when I touch any key on the keyboard pad bank B selector lights up and I need to click on the pad bank A button to get the drums working on the pads again. How do I stop the keys switching pad banks?

You can’t unlink pads + keys.

You CAN set keyboard ranges where drum notes are so low on kybd they don’t show up on keys (unless you octave way down). Keys can be higher up on notes for kybd playing.

main, track view, tap on the tracks lil kybd.
