When processing stems, my CPU is hitting 400% for the few seconds it takes to create the stems. Im seeing this in the activity monitor on my MacBook Pro. Is this normal?

It is normal. It is choosing to do the process as fast as possible, thus maximizing out the CPUs, in order to complete the work as fast as possible.

Thanks for the reply. I was worried as it is quite a big jump compared to the 20-50% cpu it sits at normally.

Thanks @MPC-Tutor.
In regards to the software in general, is it really RAM intensive?
I’ve noticed my MPC 2 software has been very laggy lately, specifically the display in sample edit, I thought this may be due to using Stems a lot.
Even when MPC software is idle it uses over 3gb ram.
