Can you automatically loop a single sample/loop?

Is it possible to load up a drum loop (one sample) have the MPC automatically detect its bpm and signature, then automatically loop it at 1-4 bars?

So lets say I have a 2 bar drum sample thats 90 bpm, can the mpc somehow load the .wav and know that its 90bpm 2 bars in a 4/4 signature. Then can it loop that to either play the first bar or full 2 bar sample?

Might be asking too much but who knows maybe im missing something.

I saw your question last night, but waited for someone else to reply because I'm less experienced than others here.

I don't think that's possible in the MPC. I wanna say the "groove boxes" of yesteryear could do that, but I'm not sure what that feature would be called. Maybe look up live looping. If you're loading samples, you're not live looping, but the tools they use might interest you.

Yes, the sample should be auto-detected with reasonable accuracy if it has clear transients.

You can then loop the sample as you describe and edit the length of the loop with clip programs

I didn't know this! However, it seems there is no way to bring the region set in the Clip program to the Drum program/Sample edit.

So, Clip Program has a use case that is not better served by a drum program ?
