Overload the arpeggiator with more algorithms, let the arpeggiator get input from "Send to" instead of having to resort to the MIDI loopback hack, let each track have its own arpeggiator... Matching the features of the whole MidicakeArp would be much less of a headache than trying to cram the stem separation CPU hog into a MPC !

the way I see it is that the MPC steams is an offline plug in stand-alone ... once you've ''steemed'' there is no tax on CPU .. its just normal .wav ... so I dont follow your nag here ...

And although an updated ARP is always welcome ..

I dont think it can produce what the generative MIDI tools in Abelton can do ... they are insanely powerfull

I had no idea.

At this point, the product management issue is studio vs. live - depth vs. simplicity... Midicake is live playable whereas that Ableton plugin has fantastic depth that is not accessible while standing and dancing on a groove. I think the MPC is in a position to give little bit of both.

An autosave timeout longer than ten minutes would be good. Maybe in ten minute increments up to an hour?

my 4 request:

- the BLEASS arpeggiator as plugin
- a midi mutator /generator like ZILLION or NDLR
- INSTRUMENT DEFINITIONS like on the HAPAX Sequencer
= save the CC for external synths, so these "definitions" can be loaded in any project
(now all data for midi controller mode is stored IN THE PROJECT, so you have to set them up again each time)
- an expansion box with 8 CV/GATE INs

The Force have this with its track macros. The MPC should have that option.

I love my MPC. I am on it about 8 hours a day. et as good as it is, thee are many little glitches that could be fixed with very little effort, that would makes things better for all of us. Here are some of them. None of them should take more than a few hours to code.

- Allow programs and sequences to be deleted (and perhaps renamed) from the Project page.
- Show the name of any object that is about to be deleted. (ie "Are you sure you want to delete this Program (Grand Piano)?) This will help those of us with occasional fat fingers.
- Allow the Shift key to be used in the Grid view to select multiple, non-contiguous items. (This already works in the List view.)
- Allow the Shift key to be used as a Shift key in the text entry dialog.
- Add a "Select All" command to Grid mode. This could be a dedicated button (though I can't see where it would go), or a gesture (ie double-tap on a blank space when the marquee tool is active, or shift-tap on the marquee tool).
- Retain the current position when nudging multiple events. Currently, it jumps to the middle or end of the selection (hard to tell which) for no apparent reason; this makes it impossible to fine tune the location of the whole selection based on the first note.
- Synchronize the position of the Grid and List views. If I'm editing measure 70 in the Grid view, it stands to reason that when I go to List view, I want to see the same region, yes?
- In List view, when inserting events, retain the previously entered event type on subsequent uses of the command. If I'm entering mutes, or CC data, I usually want to enter several in a single pass; scrolling through those voluminous lists every time I add an event is painful.
- Move the Snap Mode setting from the Grid view's Settings page to the Time Correct dialog.
- In the Keyboard Grid view, retain the current vertical position when exiting the Time Correct, Locate, and other dialogs. Currently it snaps to the region around C2, regardless of its position when the dialog was opened.
- With MIDI programs, use the assigned names for MIDI controllers when inserting in List view and Q-Link Assign mode.
- Allow effects to be reordered.
- Allow sequences and programs to be reordered, perhaps from the Project page.
- Allow tracks to be reordered.

This list could be longer, I'm sure. The thing is, none of them are difficult and could be accomplished in very little time (unlike disk streaming, generative features, or an arrangement mode.)

This feature already exists. This info is stored in MIDI programs. They are a pain to set up but yes, they can be saved and reused.

hi!

- set the internal sample rate to 48Khz or support audio interfaces with different sample rates than 44100
- looper: add an option to export the audio directly to an audio track or to loop directly on audio tracks, allowing you to switch between them (to have a multitrack looper)
- something to clear all automation for a track: i recorded some mute automation by mistake and i cannot delete them anymore
- cache for external samples to have faster search in the browser?
- reduce the time to load instruments and samples? live they are really slow to load

Good genie Akai has granted your wish: on main form, tap the sequence's pencil icon - then in the menu tap the "erase" icon (upper left)... Then in the "erase" dialog, select sequence, track, bars and, most important, automation - then All or a single parameter.

It would be great to have a global fine tuning feature that can raise and lower the tuning to match others for a live performance. I play with a group that is all tuned to A-432hz instead of A-440hz and the Akai always sounds a little off. I haven't yet figured out how to adjust this or do some sort of workaround to this issue.
