Prefer that most bugs kept to the dedicated bug report topic, although some stuff clearly demands its own thread as it needs more discussion, e.g. activation issues, the big MIDI bug etc.

This forum has always been first and foremost about offering help and technical support so I'm not sure how it's changed in that respect, other than these days the MPC has significantly more bugs and more features to offer help with.

What is it that you feel is now lacking?

Akai used to have their own Forum. That got flooded a little while after the Force came out because of how half-baked it was at the time. People were really upset. After all the complaining from that, and people getting upset about the new Mpc's not having this or that, they ended up taking it down.
I did get an e-mail years back saying they made a new one that was invite only. I got the invite and it never worked sooo.... *shrugs*

It was a bit more nuanced than that. It was on a hosted forum system, (get satisfaction) and getsatisfaction got bought out, the new owners changed the business model (massive increase in fees) , they gave people only a few days to make a decision. many forums decided to shut down at that time, not just akai.

so there was definitely a number of factors influencing that decision, but yes, no doubt the hassle of running a forum is likely to play a big factor. Very few companies run public customer support forums these days

I really wish they had an actual place to report bugs or even suggestions.
When using old Mpc's, you can just go to a parameter and adjust the increment with the number pad. You just go to the parameter, input the number and push enter. With these new Mpc's when you want to adjust an parameter, you can use the number pad SOMETIMES, and When it Does Work, it opens up a screen with Giant Numbers for the TouchScreen. Like what the hell... Just let me put in the number and push enter without opening or even changing screens. It's just ridiculous. The other things about the Number Pad is that it doesn't work on the FX I've tried. Like I admit, I just recently turned on the Mpcx after a while without touching it, but after using older gear for the past while, these type of things are just mind boggling... Who makes these decisions?

Anyways... On the plus side.. The Mpcx feels amazing after using all the other older gear for the past couple years. It is fast, and can sound good if used well. I still use all my other old samplers with it and sometimes just use it as midi or record the samplers into it. It is a refreshing device, its just this whole workflow thing needs to be streamlined. Like I remember when I could copy a pad so quick... Just hold copy, tap on pad and then another. Took like a second if even. Now I gotta way for some menu to pop up on the screen? It's infuriating that they designed things that way since the device used to be used to speed up workflow with muscle memory. I just hate the little hiccups when some older Mpc's work faster for this sorta of thing.

I guess I know how people felt when things like 16levels couldn't be toggled while sequences are going... Getting that was a big step. If only they would actually thinking of workflow/speed, sampling and midi. That's all I really want besides an actually good sounding Reverb. I remember when the Live and X came out, it was like a dream come true to be able to go back to standalone with the technology at the time, and then also having fast download speeds from USB. Such an upgrade from the Mpc2500. I'm done with my rant cause I actually do love the Mpcx. I'm happy Akai didn't completely just give up on Standalone, I just wish they would have somewhere to properly report bugs instead of shooting of things in some email which feels like goes no where.
