I have one more thing to add, maybe that is the reason for deactivation for some guys.
I logged in on my laptop to my akai account because I downloaded the software. Half an hour later I had to reactivate my plugins on the mpc live, even though the wifi was disabled. Maybe the reauthorization issue has something to do with your logins in your account via browser, but maybe it was just coincidence..

I would point out that I've yet to have any MPC offline for 90 days, when I said it was 'weeks' offline, I meant maybe 3 or 4 weeks, so around 28 days max. But definitely much more than 7 days.

Clearly issues affecting some people more than others, and big questions about whether Akai are being completely forthcoming on this (and with other issues such as data collection).

But, to everyone, let's keep it civil please.

My bad bro didn't mean to put false words on your name. I was going off of memory or in this case "bad memory" (which sounds like a dope name for a song/album  ).

Still, Akai owes the OP a new MPC or every sound pack for free. Gotta the dude something after all this craziness!

I'm a mod over at Reasontalk and have been a presence in the music software community for over 23 years under the same screen name, so it's not unusual for my narrative to be seen like this. To be clear, I also have a long list of things that are absolutely wrong with the MPC (and Force), things I would like addressed, and things that absolutely affect my music making in this ecosystem. But I tend to be a "glass half full" sort of bloke, and I also am keenly aware of the pulse of other user's experience.

No one is saying that what you (or sparky) are experiencing isn't ideal. Clearly that's a real problem! But when the majority of users are not experiencing this, or we have conflicting anecdotal reports from various users... all I'm saying is that perhaps a bit more critical thinking with a heavy dose of reasonableness is needed.

Funny fact: they always need reactivation at the worst possible time.

Funny fact 2: it usually doesn't work at the first attempt, something usually fails at first.

Kinda disruptive when it comes to make music.

This is exactly what I was talking about in an earlier post. Even with Wi-Fi turned on, I continue to get the occasional requests to reactivate every few days. Akai reps seem to know less about their own activation system than some of us at this point. I've reverted to desperately massaging the front corners of my MKI Live while whispering in it's ear like some fine ass silk shirt 90s R&B guy crying out in the rain.

In the last 3 weeks (standalone-no software, mpc x and Key61 wifi always on w/ account logged in) this has been happening to me every time I load projects, missing project files, i re-authorize and then those files are found on re-reload.

This frequency of re-authorization has never happened to me before.
It’s BAD.

Same here. It's asking for reactivation almost every day.

I'm very tired of this shit. I'm starting to consider other gear to replace my MPC.

I rarely get this bug, but most of the time my WiFi is off on the MPC. I only encounter this bug if I have left my WiFi on and switch machine off then next day I’ll switch it on it then it may ask to authorise but this is very rare. I can see this bug happening if you have a few machines with the same account linked? I have no idea but I run standalone only and only have a MPC keys 61. So can not test

Absolutely. Several, actually. I was told it was intended and that while the frequency of requests "isn't ideal" it's "still a new system." Also, when pointing a rep to this: https://www.change.org/p/stop-akai-mpc- ... connection the response was literally "don't believe everything you read on the Internet." Sure these petitions are goofy, but Akai needs to miss me with the gaslighting. That thing has 700 different signatures, not counting the auxiliary posts here and elsewhere.

I think venting is good, overall. There was a point where I was certain I was the only one having this happen and was told by people here that my machine needed repair. It didn't, but now I see others are having that exact issue several months later. The complaining is annoying until the issues start happening. When they do, these posts are more like comradery in the trenches.

Yeah but - daily or every time you start a project (as mentioned above) is absolutely *NOT* how the system is supposed to work. Guaranteed that's not "as intended". I'd keep submitting requests and blow up their social media channels if this were happening to me (full disclosure: I do not get this error at all on my Live II nor my Force).
