i have sample loop. when i go overdub and record something with the 16levels, the main loop cuts at the end?? i know my 1k pretty much and read the manual, but i cant figure out this one. are these the famous "1k sample droppings"?

ok i got 6 tracks:

kick
snare
hihat
bass
main loop
synth 16levels

when i go to track mute and play more than 5 tracks at the same time, the main loop will cut at the end.. so it isn't bout the 16levels, i can take whatever track and still the main loop will cut. ?

yo. i know exactly what you are talking about.

i have a kit of live drums, and if i just have 2 or 3 tracks going on my cymbal sound always gets chopped off. i assume its cause its a stereo sample and something is happening to the polyphony?? just talking out my ass. but i've checked everything (no mute groups, no nothing).

either way it is really annoying. i'll have a REALLY basic beat going and whenever the cymbal hits, its end gets abruptly chopped off. most times i'll just track the cymbal out byitself solo'd that way it doesn't get chopped.

blah....

punchdrunk you get exactly my point! how annoying is that?? theres gotta go be some way to get past this. driving me **** nuts...

Without opening up that OS can of worms, does pg.19 in the manual have anything to do with this problem? TO SEQUENCE END does cut the note at the end of a seq... just a thought.

ok i figured it out, just put the synth 16levels to mono, and it'll play. but this is not how i want it to sound. ..but fez ill check that one out.

that doesn't solve my problem though.

i'll have a cymbal hit at the beginning of my sequence and its end will get chopped halfway through the first bar.

its doesn't matter what track i mute as long as i mute a track to open up more space for polyphony (i am assuming).

its pretty lame, cause i can only imagine what will happen if i REALLY start stacking tracks of stereo wavs.

at this point i only have 4 tracks going and it cuts the end off.............

i have a newer mpc1k, and i havent had not one problem, maybe the older ones are the only buggy ones

By hecto Tue Feb 15, 2005 7:49 am
it's not a older one, 1month old, 1.05 OS. i somehow got it goin, now i added a second hihat and blam, the sample cuts even earlier.. sometimes i really miss those e-z flstudio days..

bump

i wanna know if it's in my mpc. i really dont think so, but i'd like to hear
more experiences on this issue.

i dont know if this will help, but sometimes i'll have a midi keyboard hooked up to the mpc and i'll be playing along to a beat. there are some notes i would play that would cancel out samples on other tracks, even though the midi track doesnt have any program assigned to it.

ive never figured out why it does this, i just work around it (as annoying as it is). i dont it, but maybe it has something to do with that?
