Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hey Folks,

I'm having some issues with missing/replaced sounds in my beats. I have recently acquired a 2000XL and have now made 15 beats on it. When I turned the machine on today and loaded up beats #11-15, most of the samples I recorded are missing or have been replaced with the samples from beat #3. The sequences are still there as well as the drum samples, but the sequence is playing the wrong sounds (ie: from beat 3).

I've looked through the entire system to find all of the samples that are missing and can't seem to locate them.

Has anyone ever had this problem? If so, can you tell me why this is happening and if it can be fixed or if the samples I recorded have been lost or deleted?

Thanks,

DJ ACRO

At any point did you load new programs into existing projects?

New programs will always load as DRUM 1 and push all existing drums back 1.

Rearrange the DRUM numbers/programs until the sequences playback correctly.

Thanks LampDog,

Unfortunately I did not load new programs into an existing projects. Which why this seems like such a mystery. I've searched through the machine entirely for the missing sounds and can't find them anywhere.

Did you rename anything recently.?
APS, ALL, PGM will be locked into looking for whatever filenames was last saved to it.

Also, if the files are corrupt they won’t load and will be skipped.

you also can create folders /sub in the 2000xl.. (os 1.14)
like four programs (all 16 pads by 4 X drum 1-4)
/sequences .. etc...

you can load drum 1-4 into the machine.
depends what u used in your sequences (tracks)
