Surprisingly positive video from a man that might have very little positive to say about InMusic management. But maybe they finally settled their differences in the background.

Maybe this means more than it seems. There could well be some collaboration in the works if inmusic have convinced him to basically endorse their product.

Then again, I don't suppose he could bring much to the table apart from his name. His own last few products haven't exactly set the world alight.

Since the MpcX is off the shelf here in Canada recently, maybe there is more to this or it's just coincidental timing. Like you could find a used X at store here and there or leftover X's and SE's, but no more seem to be coming in. It would be nice if they made a New MpcX but with an Actual Mpc3000 Analog Filter, then maybe Akai would start to give payments to Roger after all these years... I wouldn't hold my breathe though. lol. I feel like something is getting released this year. I know we have heard about the Mini or something other Mpc-Like device that doesn't run on This Mpc Software, but I feel like a new "Flagship" is going to be announced this year. I just hope it's not Red. For god sakes... No more... Just go back to one of the older Mpc Color-Pallet's.

Definitely something going on as this is like one of those influencer videos where they can find no fault whatsoever, very strange for him to come out with something like this given all the history. He mentions the falling out with the original Akai but in this other video he's also calling out Jack O'Donnell, i.e. new Akai/inMusic's owner, for stopping his ongoing royalty payments (at the time inMusic was called 'Numark').

There's no pussy-footing around here:

So seemingly a huge change of heart to go out of his way to make a video like this now. It's like someone is just off camera with a shot gun :smoker:

Seriously, I just don't see how he can now make a video like this without at least acknowledging what he said in that previous video.

I wonder what the chain of events were to lead to him making what is ultimately a promo/marketing video for inMusic? Chance meeting at a trade show? Life's too short moment?

inMusic must be over the moon, we're never going to hear the end of this.

This must be kinda how Apple FanBoys Felt when Steve Jobs Returned to APPLE after 10 years or so in the MID 90's... Apple was firmly in the boring Beige era before Jobs returned and exploded with the colored imacs... then Ipod.. then Iphone... etc

I'm not saying anything on that level could happen but there is at least potential for something great.... I'm somewhat excited.

This is a post from 2012 talking about Roger Linn abandoned prototypes....

There is no way the AKAI engineers making the MPCX 4 years later didn't see this and took some inspiration... the color scheme is even the same...

Completely debunked, even the guy who 'leaked' this admitted he made it up to create drama. Just shows how easy it is to start fake rumours.

I should of known. lol.

Good for him i guess.

You're talking like Linn got bribed or something, when all he has been asking from AKAI all these years is getting the money he is owed, he created the MPC.

I know FORAT (who did the MPC industrial design) also had a fall out with AKAI and was recently compensated by Jack O'Donnell, with the help of some hip hop producers.

Anyway, if it's really the case then good for Linn.

Theres being paid money owed to you..

Then theres agreeing to a TERM in exchange for money owed to you...

The video is sus ( considering his past vids regarding akai) and all the youtube kids are eating it all up lol
