is anyone familiar with what send/receive channels or how to use the poly 800 as a controller with software??
i cant get it to work ive tried a few things from the manual but its like mad ancient and i dont understand wtf its about. can anyone simplify it for me somehow? thanks

ps: i obviously didnt buy it to use as a midi controller but i like the keys on it and want to. for anyone who wants to buy a synth with wiked analog sound this vintage korg is amazin.

i actually own a poly 800!!! never see posts about these things..
as far as the midi is concerned dont have an answer, never really considerd it. but im sure its somewhere on the intranet

i have one of these too!! mine has the reverse keys, anyone elses?

anyway, key data from the 800 is ALWAYS transmitted on midi channel 2.
this is done automatically, you don't need to change any setting to do this, but you also can not change the transmit channel.

so, set ya midi input channel on the track u want to record on, to CH2,

Easy.

if anyone ever comes here by looking for information on the korg poly - 800.
There is no velocity that can be sended from the keyboard of the Poly-800
Nonetheless there's no particular problem to use it as a controler into an MPC

By the way, it seems that the next hawk mod will makes possible to trigger the Poly-800 with velocity midi signals, from what I have read here https://www.hawk800.com/index.php#subscribe_h

Wrong, Actually parameter 87 is the midi chanel choice...

But it's true that sequencer's datas are independently transmited on chanel 2
