Recording vocals on a sequence (recording loop??)

Hi, I had a similar situation with the mpc x (sorry for my english, it's not my mother tongue). Only that I don't record vocals, just bass & guitar. I brought up the topic in the thread [ Prevent switching from "Recording" to "Overdub" https://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=217972 ], where a nice guy named Wul gave me the following tip:

The way I record audio is to firstly set it to record on the next loop cycle, this can be done on the locator popup.
Go into the track view
Play the sequence
Arm the track audio or midi
Press record when ready (it will start recording at the start of the next loop cycle,
it will go into overdub at the end of that loop, in the case of audio it will just play ( monitor needs to be set to auto) what you’ve just recorded, if you don’t like it press record again, it will then record over the top of the previous recording.
If you do like what you’ve done add and arm another track and carry on.
You can do similar with midi however it will actually overdub.

I find this method using the track page similar to the way the force records audio and midi . It just looks different.

I'm still a beginner with the MPC workflow, but I found this a very useful tip. Maybe this will work for you, too, as your vocal recording is also an audio recording. I bought the MPC because I was fed up with switching back & forth between computer, laptop and a thousand devices. So far, the MPC has made a very good impression in this regard. You just can't expect it to work like a standard computer and have to take other approaches to achieve your goal.

a good tip The same situation occurs when you record, for example, a (Salsa) Tumbao bass, which usually starts on the "4" of the previous bar. Your method or - in case of an intro - an extra bar solve that problem. Or you can create a guide line via MIDI and record the audio as one take when the song is fully arranged. The latter method obviously assumes that you know how to play your instrument, as in an "old skool" studio situation.

(Sounds maybe a bit off topic, but could be helpful anyway )
